John Penner

June 1, 1908 ~ Dec. 3, 2005

The funeral for John Penner, 97, of Moundridge, Kan., was Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Fairview. arrangements were by Moundridge Funeral Home Inc., Moundridge.

He was born June 1, 1908, in Isabella to Fred and Anna Eck Penner and died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at Moundridge Manor.

He had lived in Moundridge for nine ears, moving from Isabella. He was a retired farmer.

He married Amanda Koehn Dec. 9, 1934, in Fairview. She died Nov. 9, 1961. He later married Ida Koehn Feb. 10, 1963, in Inman, Kan. She died Aug. 30, 2004.

Surviving are one son, Melvin Penner of Isabella; two daughters, Betty Penner of Isabella and LouElla Deming of Livingston, Calif; one sister, Elsie Nightingale of Montezuma, Kan.; five grand children; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, three daughters, three brothers and five sisters.
