Memorial services for Leotia Lena (Almond) Pendergrass, 94, of Milburn were held Sunday, 12 December, 2010 at Clark Funeral Service in Tishomingo. Internment was at Huntington Cemetery, Huntington, Arkansas. The daughter of the late Ida Eugene (Kennedy) Almond and James O�Neill Almond, she was born January 10th, 1916 at Coal Camp #3, near Huntington, Arkansas and died December, 09, 2010 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Tishomingo.
Lee as she liked to go by grew up at Huntington and lived at Fort Smith, Arkansas until 1964 when she moved to Long Beach, California and relocating to Milburn eleven years ago. She was employed as a bakery sales clerk most of her life. At different times in her life she attended the Baptist and Methodist Churches and was baptized in both.
Her marriage to Howard Dickson Pendergrass took place in a Baptist Church at Long Beach, California July 3rd, 1967. He preceded her in death in 1977. Also preceding her in death are a brother James O'Neill Almond, II, and a sister Lucille (Almond) Warren.
Survivors include one son Jimmy E. Thompson of Long Beach, California, a sister Clematis Palmer and husband Junior of Missouri, a niece Janie LaFevers and husband Wendell of Milburn, a nephew Cecil Warren and an additional six nieces and two nephews, and many cousins and friends living out of State. Services were directed by Clark Funeral Service, Tishomingo and McConnell Funeral Homes of Greenwood, Arkansas
