Robert “Bob” Pearson Sr.

Robert “Bob” Pearson Sr.
December 27, 1943 ~ August 27, 2021

Robert “Bob” Pearson Sr. was born December 27, 1943 in Healdton, Oklahoma to Cecil and Mildred Pike Pearson and passed away August 27, 2021 at the age of 77. He was a resident of the Ames community for the last 55 years. He graduated from Healdton High School in 1962 and retired from Exxon Mobil.

He was married to Connie Francis Turman at Healdton Church of Christ in December 1963. This union, Angelia and Robert Jr. were born. He was married to Carol Watkins until her death in 1996.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Cecil Glenn Pearson and one sister, Linda Kay Pearson Mitchell.

He is survived by one daughter, Angie Pearson Brodrick and husband Keith of Kingfisher, OK and one son, Robert Pearson Jr. of Watonga, OK. Three brothers; Perry Pearson and wife Janie of Oil City, OK, Jerry Pearson and wife Anita of Tuttle, OK, and Ray and Marsha Pearson of Oil City, OK, and his dear friend, Tina Pruitt of Ames, OK, four grandchildren; Blake Pearson and wife Amy of Ames, OK, Tiffany Lozano and husband Beto of Weatherford, OK, Robert Pearson III of Watonga, Gracie Pearson of Watonga, and seven great grandchildren; Bowen and River Pearson, Ma’Kyla, Kyler, Kylen, Kaden, and Emma Lozano. Robert is also survived by four step grandchildren; D’Andra Parsons and husband Chayne of Davis, OK, Dustin Brodrick and wife Dusti of Kingfisher, OK, Kailin Brodrick of Thomas, OK, MacKenzie Todd of Watonga, OK, six step great grandchildren; Ava, Alivia, Jack, and Levi Parsons, Hinsley and Whitley Brodrick and three step children; Wayne, Sandy, and Krissie. As well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

.After moving to Ames in 1967 Robert began working for Exxon Mobil in Hennessey as a plant operator and was a dedicated employee for 40 years. Upon retirement he continued to farm and spent much of his time tending to his farm ensuring it was a haven for deer and turkey, which he loved to hunt, especially with his family. He could sit for hours and watch wildlife roam around the property. Throughout the years, his home was turned into a hunting lodge for two weeks every November. Many friends and family would spend time at his home and even drop by to retell the wildest of deer stories.

Robert spent his life hunting and fishing, doing so with great passion.

Robert loved nothing more than spending time, but not too much time with his family, “tormenting” the little ones as they didn’t last too long, he had to be back to “the hill” before dark! The love he had for his brothers is something that never faded, they spoke regularly and remained a large part of each other’s lives throughout the years. He always said you could never be any closer to God than out in the woods in the peace and quiet. Robert developed friendships that lasted beyond his career working for Exxon and remained close friends with many to this day. No one enjoyed retirement more than Bob and he loved every minute of it, he would spend his mornings at the “office” and his afternoons at the “D-P Club” at the Ames Coop. He enjoyed the good-natured ribbing and the far-fetched stories that were told there. He was a great man that is loved and will be missed by many.

Funeral Services for Robert “Bob” Pearson will be held, Wednesday September 1, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Faith Center in Meno, OK, with Ian Grimm officiating. Burial will follow in the Pearson Family Cemetery at his residence in Ames. Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ames Fire Department of Ames, OK
