Donald R. Peace Sr., 79, residing in Huron, Ohio, passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 16, 2013, at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family.
Donald was born July 26, 1934, in Harlan County Kentucky to the late Willard and Doris Peace.
Donald retired from St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Okla., from the telecommunications department.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling and collecting just about anything. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and pet lover. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his children, Donald R. (LeeAnne) Peace Jr. and Shari Peace, both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Misti Yoakum, Jamie and Sean Bishop, BreeAnna Andrews and Zachary VanZandt; eight greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Christel (Lemley), and daughter, Donna Pavia.
Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, from 10 a.m. up until the time of memorial service at 11 a.m. at Groff Funeral Homes Huron Chapel, 2602 E. Bogart Road, Huron, Ohio, with Pastor John Adams of New Life Church presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
