Alva – Funeral services for John (Jim) Payne, 88, longtime Alva barber, who died Thursday night in a local convalescent home, will be at 10 AM today in the First Baptist Church.
Rev. Clyde Riddle, pastor, will officiate and graveside services will be conducted in the Wilmore, Kansas, Cemetery with interment by the Hill Funeral Home of Alva.
Payne was born November 19, 1881, and operated a small barbershop for many years in Alva.
He is survived by his wife, Annie of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Wanda) Dunn, Jet and Mrs. Fabian (LaVaughn) Webber, Cherokee; three grandchildren.
