The memorial service for George Lee Payne will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dennis Elder officiating.
George was born May 31, 1941 in Enid to Charles W. and May (O'Brate) Payne and passed away April 1, 2019 at his home.
George attended school in Carrier and graduated from Carrier High in 1961. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably. On June 21, 1969, George married Frieda Eckert in Enid where the couple made their home. He was a faithful member of Victory Bible Church. He worked in oil and gas with Champlin Refining Co. and Southwest Energy. George loved fishing and spending time with his family and will be missed by all.
George is survived by his wife, Frieda; son, Bennie both of Enid; brothers, Barton and Glen of Enid; sisters, Lucy Webster of Follett, TX; Mergie Doll Cochran of Kirby, AR; Karen Theilen of Enid; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence, Charlie and Bennie; two infant siblings, Phillip and Lois.
