Bernard Charles Pavlu, 74, of Okeene, Oklahoma fell asleep in death July 1, 2018. He was born on February 11, 1944 to Charles and Carrie Pavlu in Okeene. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Pavlu and mother, Carrie Pavlu; sister, Charlene Pavlu Smith and granddaughter, Elyssa Pavlu.
Bernard graduated from Okeene High School in 1960 and went on to obtain a Diesel Mechanics degree from OSU Technical Institute in 1963. Shortly after that Bernard joined the U. S. Army and served in the Army National Guard for several years. He went on to have a great career in the oil and gas industry with Amoco Production Company for 27 years before retiring in 1998 as a Production Supervisor over Drilling and Completions. Bernard dedicated his life to becoming a Jehovah's Witness in 1977 and devoted his life to sharing the Good News with others. His passion was farming and raising cattle. His family knew his last breath would be on the farm he so dearly loved. Bernard married Diana Dean Reasor on January 28, 1967 and they raised three children.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Diana Pavlu of Okeene; children, Vincent Pavlu and fiancé, Katie Alexander of Dallas, Texas, Teresa and Walter Hodges of Okeene, Paul and Rachael Pavlu of Kettering, Ohio; grandchildren, Jessica and Brad Lindenmayer of Perkins, Tyler Hodges of Okeene, Kennedie and Landon Pavlu of Kettering, Ohio; brother, John and Wanda Pavlu of Stillwater; mother in-law, May Dean Reasor of Okeene. He will be dearly missed by a host of family and friends.
A memorial service for Bernard is being held on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 3:00 in the afternoon at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses which is located seven miles east of Watonga on HWY 33. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Okeene. www.lanmanmemorials.com
