A memorial service for Julian B "Jay B" Patton will be held Monday, October 1, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Willow Road Christian Church. Rev. Carrel Still will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Jay was born June 10, 1935, in Chicago, Ill., to Julian and Velma (Brown) Patton and went to be with his Lord Jesus September 24, 2007.
He served in the United States Army from November 2, 1954, to September 11, 1956. He was married to Susan Goumas on August 5, 1961, in Chicago, Ill.
Jay graduated from DePaul University in February 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce and obtained his CPA from the University of Illinois in February 1975. Jay worked as an accountant for Quaker Oats for 23 years and Catholic Charities of Chicago for seven years until his retirement in 2001.
Jay and his wife moved to Enid in 2002. He was an active member of the Willow Road Christian Church, served on the board and volunteered at the warehouse of the Horn of Plenty and was an active member of the Northwest Oklahoma Emmaus Community.
Jay loved his family and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed reading and family game nights.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of 46 years; and two sons and two daughters, Jeff and Kim Patton of Enid, OK, Gary and Chris Patton of O�Fallon, IL, Janet and Greg Schmeckpeper of Tinley Park, IL, and Kathi and John Strott of Kenosha, WI; and six grandchildren, Tori, Justin, Alex, Becca, Maddie and Ellie. He also is survived by three brothers, Bill Patton, John and Bea Patton and Bobby and Peggy Patton and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Willow Road Christian Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
