Floyd G. Parks, age 78 of Lexington, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020, at the Norman Regional Healthplex. Floyd Glen Parks was born December 6, 1941 in Purcell, OK, the oldest of 4 children born to James Sheard Parks and Ida Mae (Simmons) Parks. He grew up in the Lexington, Noble and Norman area, graduating from Noble High School in 1960. He then attended OSU Tech in Okmulgee and earned a degree in refrigeration. This would lead to a very rewarding career, as Floyd owned and operated his own commercial refrigeration business subcontracting his services for many years. By chance, on a blind date in 1992, Floyd met a young lady named Virginia. They were the perfect match, and eventually were married in Checotah. When he wasn’t working, Floyd enjoyed following politics and he preferred Fox News. He never missed an opportunity to watch his children and grandkids play ball, go fishing and he especially enjoyed taking train trips with his grandchildren.
