Finley Parker, the son of Robert and TeeKay Parker entered the gates of Heaven on September 27, 2024, with family and friends surrounding him. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the First Christian Church of Buffalo.
Finley loved life, loved people and loved a good time!
While at Buffalo Schools, Finley was involved in FFA, considering Tim Harland the Best Teacher he ever had! He competed in Grass and Land judging contests, placing in these competitions. But, also educating everyone with his knowledge, teaching us the name of the grasses and the purpose. We would say Fin paid attention to this teacher.
He loved playing football for the Buffalo Bison, being able to run, sometimes catch, the football and making touchdowns!
Track was his other sport, Finley figured out his own take off for long jumping and although no one understood it, it worked for him! He also sprinted, visiting with whoever lined up beside him, even when it was time to get down to start.
Finley golfed with family having his own unique way of holding his clubs. Robert, TeeKay and his sisters tried endlessly to "help" him change his grip.... totally backwards of any person's grip, standing to hit right-handed, but held his club right hand on top, left on bottom.... no changing perfection that worked for him.
Finley's legacy was he never met a stranger. He made friends wherever he went, from kids his own age, to Robert's Golfing buddies, Buster's roping buddies, and especially the older people. Finley was a friend to anyone.
So many stories have been shared by family and friends that may have had him grounded forever!
Finley was greeted in Heaven by Jesus, Grandpa Buster Record (Bussy Tom was his Grandpa name), PawPaw Robert Parker II, Great Grandparents and many family friends.
Finley will be waiting in heaven for his family and friends, Parents Robert and TeeKay Parker, brother Dylan Parker; sister Emiley and Husband Preston Morris-Axel, Oakleigh, and Olivia; sister Chloe Parker; Granddad Kirk and Granny Anne Burgess; G'ma Jane Record; Granddad David and Grandma Sally Witschi- Biological Mother April Thomas; Grandpa Joe Thomas and Grandma Etha Mae-Joseph Thomas; NeeNee Teresa Parker; Uncle Austin Burgess wife Julia-Haylee and Preston; Uncle Tyler Burgess and wife Natile; Uncle Jay Sellers and wife Christy-Charly, Chaney and Stony; Aunt TyLee Heredia and husband Christian - Josie and Daylen; Aunt Tandi Beesinger and husband Sammy-Brittany and Tyler; Best friends Mason Wood and Blake Huckaby; Classmates and many more family and friends of all ages.
There are special "family" from OU Childrens Hospital and Bethany Childrens Hospital that are so important to our family, words CANNOT express. They are definitely Compassionate Angels in our eyes!
We want to thank each one of you for reaching out to us, praying for us, and loving us through this time. We have been blessed to have each one of you in our family during these past years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Children's Health and Rehab Center with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
