Parish, Helen (Ames), 79, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in Norman. She was born August 24, 1932 in Stockton Springs, Maine to Roy and Velma (Henry) Ames.
Helen is survived by son, Rick Parish and wife Lea of OKC; daughter, Suzie and husband Lonnie of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Spencer Parish, Jared Bussey, Emily Bussey, Natalie Bussey, Chris Fleming, Brian Fleming, Varnum Fleming, Ricky Fleming; great grandchildren, Serenity Smith, Destiny Fleming, Evalyn Ables, Jazmyne Fleming.
Helen was raised in Le Grange Maine later moved to Boston Massachusetts. She lived in Germany, Italy and New Mexico while her husband served in the Military. Helen lived in Liberal, Kansas for 29 years.
Helen enjoyed collecting owls, reading, knitting and watching western movies. She loved Steven Seagal, Sam Elliot, Walker Texas Ranger. The highlight of her life were her family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Regional Food Bank, 3355 S. Purdue St., Oklahoma City, OK 73137.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2012 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Arrangements for Helen and her family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
