Patricia Ruth (Begley) Palmer
April 9, 1957 ~ August 30, 2017

Patricia Ruth Palmer, age 60, longtime resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017.

A memorial ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00am Thursday, September 7, 2017 in the chapel at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory with Father Carson Krittenbrink officiating. Honorary casket bearers will be the members of the Ponca City Fire Dept. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Pat was born on April 9, 1957, the fourth of seven children to James and Audrey Begley in Newark, NJ. As a child her family moved to Houston, then to Ponca City where she graduated with the class of 1975 and then furthered her education at Northern Oklahoma College. Kurt L. Palmer became her husband on January 28, 1977 in Blackwell, OK, having now celebrated 40 years of marriage. Pat worked as a mortgage loan processor for Interwest Mortgage for many years before an injury forced her retirement. Following retirement, Pat began volunteering with Meals On Wheels, serving as their local grant coordinator. Quilting became a hobby of Pat's after she and her sisters took a beginning quilting class. Pat ran with it, making beautiful quilts for her family. The most important thing to Pat was spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed their family vacations to Padre Island. The love they shared together was her strength.

Survivors include her husband, Kurt L. Palmer of the home, son, Benjamin L. Palmer and wife Carmen of San Antonio, TX, grandchildren: Noah, Alec, and Seth, siblings: Jim Begley and wife Deedee of Texas City, TX, Andi Loudermilk and companion Scott Collette of Port Orchard, WA, Chris Schiltz and husband Pat of Ponca City, Kate Medvedoff and husband Steve of Santa Maria, CA, Matt Begley and wife Brenda of Austin, TX, Laurie Wedd and husband Dennis of Ponca City, brother in law Kent Palmer and wife Cheryl of Atlanta, GA, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Edmund and Ethel Berry and James and Mary Begley, brother-in-law, Lyle Loudermilk and infant nephew Shane Loudermilk.
