Funeral services for D. L."Roy" Painter 56, Phillips, Texas were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 1967 at the First Baptist church in Phillips with the Rev. Shad Rue, officiating.
Ray and family lived in the Crawford community until December 1941 when he moved to Phillips to work at the Phillips Refinery.
He was employed until his death.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Phillips and Ahode Wills Masonic Lodge 1355.
Survivors are his wife, Lois; son, Bob of Senora; daughter, Mrs. Carol Daver of Pampa, Texas; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Painter of Wilburn, Oklahoma; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Grady of Wilburton, Oklahoma; Mrs. Loila Jones of Strong City; Mrs. Viola Chandler of San Matias, California; Mrs. Helen Jones of Monterey, California; six grandchildren; and numerous friends.
Pall bearers were men that worked with Ray in the Instrument Department of the Phillips Refinery.
Burial was in Memory Gardens, Pampa, Texas directed by Simpson Funeral Home.
