Howard Iven Paige, 84, of Sulphur, formerly of Blanchard, died August 12, 2016 in Sulphur. The son of Clarence Lester Paige and Susie Mae (Thorn) Paige, he was born February 28, 1932 in Amber, Oklahoma.
He attended school at Prairie Valley, Blanchard, and Middleburg High School where he graduated in 1951. Howard married Ruth Johnson in 1951 and to this union two sons were born, Danny and Dennis. He joined the Air Force and served four years at Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, Texas. He then went to work for the El Paso Natural Gas Company and worked 32 years in plants as operator, then in the field of measurement, moving fourteen times during that time with the company to many out of the way places in the west Texas area. Howard enjoyed his work and retired in February 1988.
In 1978, he married Joretta LeBleu Busby in Blanchard and they lived in Carlsbad, New Mexico and Erick, Oklahoma until his retirement, when they moved back to Blanchard. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blanchard and the Masonic Lodge in Blanchard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Danny Paige; his wife, Joretta Paige; step-daughter, Sharon Chapman; grandson, Derik Taylor; two sisters, Christeen Pyle and Clista Hopkins; and one brother, Lester Paige.
He is survived by one son, Dennis Paige and his wife, Stacie, of Stratford; step-daughter, Karen Gentry and her husband, John, of Chickasha; step-son, Shane Busby and his wife, Cheryl, of Milton, Florida; eight grandchildren, Dusty Paige and his wife, Shelly, of Oklahoma City, Laci Clary and her husband, Jay, of Sulphur, Trisha Taylor Smith and her husband, Justin, of Ada, Chelsea Holland Harper and her husband, Blake, of Oklahoma City, Brooke Williams and her husband, Leon, of Chickasha, Randi Chapman of Chickasha, Cody Busby of Milton, Florida, and Molly Busby of Milton, Florida; nine great grandchildren, Brittany Graves, Chett Taylor, Aubrey and Kannon Clary, Anabelle and Caroline Paige, George Smith, Asher Harper, and Kolton Busby; one sister, Alma Mobbs of Oklahoma City; and many other loved ones and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
