Alice Kathryn (Lettkeman) Page

November 3, 1920 ~ December 14, 2008

Alice Kathryn Page was born to this earth on Nov. 3, 1920. She left this earth and joined her beloved Harold Otto Page in eternal love on December 14, 2008.

Their love began while she attended nursing school and Harold was enlisted at Enid Army Air Field (now Vance AFB). Harold courted Alice by taking her to the movies and on walks in Enid. They also held hands while sipping cherry limeades at the soda shop. They married in a simple ceremony on April 19, 1942 and God blessed them with 54 years together.

Alice's husband Harold, parents Katie and Jake Lettkeman, sister Joan Hadley, brother John Lettkeman, niece Annette Hill, and grandson Peyton Lee Bryant joyously greeted her in heaven.

Alice's daughters, Rozanne and husband Mike Bishop of Floydata, TX, and Cheryl and husband Rod Weeks of Midwest City, OK, as well as her sister, Louise Hill, of Mountianburg AR, survive her.

Alice shares an incredible love with her grandchildren: Alisha and Euel Davis; Sean and Heather Bryant; Laura Bryant and Gabriel Denton; Warren Bishop; David Bishop; Elizabeth Weeks; and Caitlin Bishop. She cherishes and is cherished by her great-grandchildren: Collin Davis; Kailen Bryant; Ashton Davis; Riley Bryant; Peyton Christopher Bryant; Amelia Denton; and Raleigh Denton. She felt supremely loved by the Bryant-Cullina family. They are among her dear friends. Those who also count themselves blessed by Alice are Bill Yost, Tom and Tanni Jamison, and her church family.

In marriage Alice and Harold shared a love for family and friends as well as common interests in travel, fishing, and gardening. In mutual respect they also encouraged each other to pursue individual interests. Alice dedicated her heart of gold to service. Love for family and friends, passion for her church, and the desire to help others defined the values in her life.

She sustained us with her love during family gatherings, meals, and stories. She loved to read, crochet, and sew. She created banners for various holidays to line her church walls. She made countless jars of jelly and jam, in addition to sewing crafts, for church fundraising projects. At church Alice cooked for the youth on many occasions, including VBS and on Wednesdays. She served as a leader for prayer study, the CWF, and chaired the Worship and World Outreach Committees. She worshiped with her church family, sang in the choir, and participated in Sunday school. Her choir and Sunday school friends were very much a part of her life.

In almost forty years of nursing she comforted many in Enid, Muskogee, and at OU's University Hospital. She nurtured everyone. Her hands reached to rock and soothe babies. She stopped to listen when a child spoke. She expressed love and care through the gift of attention.

Although she completed a great number of sewing projects before retirement, the number of projects accelerated after retirement. She spent countless hours sewing for her family, friends and church. She donated a quilt for a raffle held by her grandchildren's soccer team. She made singlets for the wrestling team. Alice sewed everything from a camouflage hunting jacket to impressive dresses for proms and weddings. No task was too small - she graciously hemmed uniform pants and sewed patches on clothing - grateful to serve.

We will forever be trying to fill our void until we meet again.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Mid-Del Relay for Life. Relay for life takes donations directly at Optim Oncology or at Relay For Life.org.

A celebration of her life will occur on Tuesday, December 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the Barnes & Friederich Funeral Home, 1820 S. Douglas Boulevard, Midwest City, OK, 733-2991.

The funeral service will be at Midwest Boulevard Christian Church on Wednesday, December 17 at 11:00 a.m.
