Patricia Ann (Farguson) Owens

Dec. 30, 1929 ~ April 19, 2009

Enid, OK - The memorial service for Patricia Ann Owens, 79, of Enid, will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, at University Place Christian Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Galbreath will officiate. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

She was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Helena to Earl and Blanche Morris Farguson and died Sunday, April 19, 2009, after a battle with cancer.

She grew up south of Helena. Following graduation, she attended the University of Oklahoma, where she received an associates degree in media journalism.

She married Robert Laubhan in 1949. They lived in Columbus, Neb., and Woodward. He died in 1951.

She attended Enid Business College and worked as a legal secretary for several law firms in Wichita, Kan., South Bend, Ind., Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Enid. She pursued her career as a loan secretary when she lived in Gary, Ind.

She married William H. Owens in 1964. They made their home in Enid, where they owned and operated Wm H. Owens Real Estate and Mortgage Co. She was a member of Helena Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Steven Laubhan of Duncan and Bryant Owens of Enid; one daughter, Stephanie Voss of Waukomis; two brothers; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her first husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by an infant child.
