William Eugene "Gene" Otto
January 6, 1965 ~ August 5, 2015

William Eugene "Gene" Otto was born January 6, 1965 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Beatrice and James Otto. He passed away August 5, 2015 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 50 years, 6 months and 29 days.

Gene went to a small country grade school near Big Springs, Nebraska. He graduated high school from Rushville, Illinois. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and spent a short time until he was medically discharged. He spent several years as a police officer in Missouri. Gene was currently working for High Plains Hull out of Perryton, Texas where he had been employed for the last 20 years. He was married to Tracy Lynn (Pugh) Otto at Elk City, Oklahoma on December 26, 2014. He was a member of the Elk City Community Church. He loved football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Nebraska Cornhuskers. He loved children and has worked in children's ministries for years. He was a loving husband, son and father and was ecstatic to become a grandpa in July.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy, of the home; 3 children, Amber Garrison and husband, Andrew, Burns Flat, OK, Brendan Otto, Burns Flat, OK, Tiffany Otto, Elk City, OK; 1 granddaughter, Kynlee Garrison, Burns Flat, OK; Tracey's children, Sierra Harrington and husband, Andrew, Edmond, OK, Baylee Howell, Broken Arrow, OK, Riley Howell, Elk City, OK; his mother, Beatrice Hopkins and husband, Jay, Bristow, OK; 3 brothers, Jeff Otto and wife, Beth, Perryton, TX, James Otto, NC, John Otto and wife, Melanie, Chesapeake, MD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
