July 6, 1936 ~ February 6, 2026

Leonard Osborn, 89 year old Woodward resident passed away, Friday February 6, 2026 at home. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland.

Leonard Wayne Osborn was born July 6, 1936 to Andrew Luther Osborn and Mary Ellen (Davis) Osborn in Quinlan, Oklahoma. He grew up in the Quinlan-Mooreland area and graduated from Mooreland High School. After high school he attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University where he obtained his degree in music. Leonard was united in marriage to Marlys Joan Osborn on August 16, 1970 in Los Angeles, California. They made their first home in the Highland Park area. They also lived in Mooreland, Oklahoma and Longmont, Colorado, before settling down in Woodward.

He worked for the City of Mooreland and as a bricklayer and Slick50 warehouse worker. He was very passionate about music, as he also worked as a music teacher both in schools and for private lessons.

He was happiest when he was playing his guitar, giving private music lessons, studying for spiritual lessons, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed music, reading Louis L'Armour books, and walking. He was also an active member of Christ's Church in Woodward where he acted as a song leader and a Sunday school teacher.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Ellen Osborn; two sisters, Mary Strever and Dixie Johnson; and one brother, Darrell Osborn; and other family members.

He is survived by his wife Marlys Osborn; three sons, Wayne Osborn and wife Trudy, Lance Osborn and wife Shania, and Joel Osborn and wife Maryah; brother Don Osborn and wife Erna; sister Betty Jo Graham; 10 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
