Carol Ann (Webster) Orton

Carol Ann (Webster) Orton
April 17, 1935 ~ May 22, 2019

Carol Ann Orton, age 84 of Newcastle, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, while living at the Senior Village in Blanchard, OK.

Carol was born on April 17, 1935, in Cornell, Wisconsin. She was the 3rd of nine children born to Adrian Duane Webster and Irene Ruth (Martindale) Webster. Carol grew up in Cornell and attended Cornell schools. After high school she married the love of her life, a young Marine whom she had known since high school by the name of Jerry Orton. They were married on June 12, 1954, and later started a family, raising three children, Jim, Linda and Duane. Carol worked hard as a homemaker, wife and mother while Jerry worked for the U. S. Government.

It s hard not to say Jerry when you talk about Carol. Carol and Jerry were inseparable. In 1959, Jerry s work moved their family to Kansas City. Then in 1964, they moved to Oklahoma City. It was in 1969, they made their home on a small acreage in Newcastle where they enjoyed living in the country, gardening, canning, raising horses and attending to other farm animals. All of her life, Carol enjoyed riding horses and being in the outdoors. She and Jerry spent countless hours fishing together and taking their kids and grandkids fishing.

Carol was a faithful Christian all of her life, after getting saved as a young girl. She and Jerry were faithful members of the Newcastle First Baptist church since moving to Newcastle in 1969. Carol loved teaching and especially had a passion for teaching young girls. For over 40 years she taught teenage girls Sunday School and helped as a sponsor at Falls Creek church camp.

Carol will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her smile and her love for others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
