Gary Walter Oringderff, 72, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at his home in Enid, Okla. A private family service will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
He was born in Enid, Okla., on Jan. 2, 1942, to parents, Clifford and Opal (Newton) Oringderff.
He was a graduate of Enid High School and University of Oklahoma.
Upon graduating from OU, he married Sharon Hack on May 12, 1965. They had two children, Julie and Michael.
Gary served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1976, as a major in the EOD Division.
After his discharge from the Army, he worked in the automotive business and as a real estate appraiser.
He married Sally Eagan in June 2000.
Gary loved life, and his great joy was making people laugh. He was an avid animal lover, who sheltered many animals and had many feral cats spayed and neutered.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. In the past he served as an elder at Davis Park Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Oringderff; daughter, Julie and her two daughters Ellie and Anna; son, Michael and wife Becky and their four children, Gabriela, Noah, Isaiah and Mia; stepdaughter, Sarah and husband Justin Helterbrand and their daughters Callie and Paige; stepson, David Eagan and Melonie and his two children, Garrett and Grace.
The family requests memorials be made to Enid SPCA, 116 Overland Trail, Enid, OK 73703, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
