Martha V. Oliphant, of Mannsville, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on February 28, 2024. Martha was born on April 6, 1953, to Wilfred & Hazel Oliphant in Independence, Louisiana. Upon graduating from Holden School in 1972 she joined the Army. While stationed in Germany, she met and married William L. Mercier in December 1977. Martha and William (Bill) had five children together: Michel G.Mercier, Yolanda Mercier Hughes (married to Gary), Jude A. Mercier (married to Jennifer), Eric S. Mercier (married to Tamar), and Eva M. Backenstoes.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, husband, great grand Child Piper Renah, and daughter Eva. She is survived by her daughter Yolanda, and her three sons: Michel, Jude, and Eric. twelve grandchildren Krystal, Krista, Robert, Jaden, Christian, Andrew, Emily Taylor, Triston, Teigan, Railand, and Olivia and great grandchild Khloe. She also has two brothers Robert and Wilfred Oliphant with several nieces and nephews.
Martha was an independent woman who cared deeply for her family and friends. She enjoyed hiking and spending time with her family. She was selfless with her love and willing to help anyone who asked, even when she did not have the means to do so. Her love for the Lord was shown even in the last couple of weeks before her death with some of the post she had shared on her Facebook page.
Martha was loved and will be missed by many.
