George Harry Ogle, 76, of Choctaw, went to be with our Lord on February 19, 2013 at home surrounded by family.
George was born April 12, 1936 in Oklahoma City to Homer Leon and Hilda Susie Boevers Ogle. George was a 1954 graduate of Choctaw High School. He was a member of the first CHS football team in 1952.
He served his country for more than 38 years in the Oklahoma Army National Guard, before retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in 1991.
He was a charter member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Midwest City and attended regularly.
George had a nickname for everyone and his sense of humor was contagious. He was as ornery as they come. He loved to spend time with his family and friends at his second home at Lake Eufaula. His family was the light of his life and he set a wonderful example for them to follow. He was generous to a fault and selflessly gave to anyone who was in need.
George was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Leon, and sister Brigatta "Bea" Worley.
George is survived by two brothers, John Henry Ogle and wife Virjean; and Charles R. H. Ogle and wife Frances; his wife and sweetheart of 56 years, Viola Jones Ogle; daughter Penny and husband Robert Darnell; daughter Susanne and husband Charley Bernard; granddaughter Liz and husband Aaron Monroe; grandson Peter Brown II and wife Sarah; grandson Robert Darnell II; step-grandson Derek Bernard and wife Jennifer; along with great-granddaughters Lainee Brown, Kaydence Monroe, Rylie Brown, Kennedy Brown, Madilyn Bernard, Audrey Bernard and numerous nieces and nephews.
