Janice Elaine Nunnenkamp-Weissenborn–Belcher

Janice Elaine Nunnenkamp-Weissenborn–Belcher
July 14, 1944 ~ November 1, 2020

Janice Elaine Nunnenkamp-Weissenborn–Belcher, 76, of Colbert Oklahoma, passed away on November 1, 2020 after her heart failed as she was battling an illness at Alliance Health Durant Hospital.

Janice was born on July 14, 1944 to Henry and Frankie Floride Nunnenkamp in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Grand Prairie High School, she met and wed Henry Weissenborn Sr. of Dallas, Texas and went on to have four children, Elizabeth Henry; Henry Weissenborn Jr.; Scott Weissenborn and Karen Jones. In the 59 years to follow, it was clear to all that her Children, Grandchildren, and their families were her crowning joy.

She stepped in and out of the working world many times to be the best Mom she could be. She worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone had what they needed and more so what they wanted, while she happily did with less so she could give more. She opened her door to all the neighborhood kids and provided a safe place that many called home. Her love and trust for people, especially those in need, caused her to open her door to feed and shelter the less fortunate. When the knock on the door came, those in need could always find a helping hand, a place to bed and shelter if even for just a night, she gladly provided.

Although her health began to wane in the last few years, she continued to bless others with her never give-up, never give-in attitude and her willingness to share her infectious smile was inspirational to care-givers and all those she touched. Mom always had a feisty opinion on everything from child-rearing to doctoring to lawyering to pet-care to ceramic painting and most any subject outside of sports. Simply, she brought a smile and a special spark into the lives of all that knew her for which she will be forever be remembered and she will be forever missed. Fittingly, God called her home on All Saints’ Day!

Janice is predeceased by her parents, her two brothers David Nunnenkamp and Alfred Nunnenkamp, her late husband George W. Belcher Sr., one grandchild, Stephanie Weissenborn. She is survived by her four children, two step-son’s, fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

For those that wish to celebrate her life, please donate to the hero’s on the front lines battling every day in her name.
