Cleta Lois (Holland) Norman

Cleta Lois (Holland) Norman
June 29, 1930 ~ October 3, 2021

Cleta Norman, 91 year old former Woodward business owner passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 8, 2021 in the Woodward Church of Christ. Private family interment will take place at a later date, with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Cleta Lois Norman was born on June 29, 1930, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Lilly Pearl Holland and Royce Lee Holland. Cleta grew up in White Bead, Oklahoma, where she graduated from White Bead High School. She met the love of her life, Alfred (Al) Norman through her very best friend, Belva Rice. Cleta and Al were united in marriage on August 18, 1950, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Through this union, their daughter, Gayle Norman Ingram was born.

The Norman family continued to reside in Pauls Valley until relocating to Woodward, Oklahoma in 1960, when Al got transferred with Schlumberger. Cleta resided in Woodward the rest of her life and was a lifelong member of the Woodward Church of Christ until she begun to suffer from Alzheimer's in 2009. In 2017, Cleta was moved to Eastgate Nursing Village in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where her daughter was living, and this is where Cleta gained her heavenly wings with her beloved daughter and granddaughter by her side when she drew her very last breath. Cleta and her husband Al worked 12-hour days, side by side at Al Norman Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep & Dodge for many many years. Through these years, they opened Al Norman Dodge in Enid, Oklahoma, in addition to Al Norman Dealers' Auto Auction of El Paso, Texas. They also purchased a Honda & Yamaha motorcycle dealership as well. Cleta was one of the hardest working and most selfless women you could ever know--staying up all night 'working on the books' for whatever new endeavor, her husband, Al, would come up with. One thing about it, she never ever complained. Cleta was totally devoted to Al, waited on him 'hand and foot', even going so far as pulling his boots off for him every single night so he didnt have to - then handed him his big, cold class of sweet tea.

There were three other very important people in Cleta's life whom she was also totally devoted to and that was her daughter, Gayle Norman Ingram, and her granddaughters Lindsey Howard and Lori Hart. Cleta would lay down her life for them, or anyone who mistreated her girls. Her whole world changed when she became a Grandma for the first time and then a second time. She was in heaven and her granddaughters never ever had to have a babysitter - she was the only babysitter they could have and they loved every minute of it. Needless to say, her granddaughters were two of the most spoiled girls ever. Cleta hated to shop, but would go with and spend endless hours on shopping trips with her granddaughters and daughter and be the life of the party. Cleta was the most amazing, loving, feisty wife, Mother, and Grandmother anyone could ask for. Her family was her whole world and she was theirs. A part of our hearts will always be broken, but we are at peace knowing that she is no longer suffering.

Cleta was so loved, and will be missed by those her loved and cherished her so very much.

Cleta is survived by her husband, Al Norman of Clinton, Oklahoma, her daughter Gayle Norman Ingram of Woodward, Oklahoma, her Granddaughters Lindsey Howard and husband Cody Howard, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Lori Hart and husband Jonathan Hart, of Edmond, Oklahoma. Her great grandchildren Kyler and Khloe Hart of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Ryker and Radley Howard of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Cleta was preceded in death by parents, Lilly and Lee Holland, her sisters, Wanda Gene Norman and Wilma Smith. Her brothers, Questin Holland and Quinton Holland, her brother-in-law C.L. Norman, her nieces Carolyn Vacchio, Karen Smith, and Janice Newton. Her great niece, Melissa Norman, her great nephews, Cody Norman and Curtis Newton. Two of her lifelong best friends as well, Nina Clabaugh and Belva Rice.
