Mary Kathryn Niebur, 74, of Norman, Oklahoma, died peacefully with her husband by her side on September 19, 2016. Mary was born August 8, 1942 in North Bend, NE to Walter W. and Loretta J. (Mares) Laudon.
She met the love of her life, William "Bill" Niebur, Sr., while on her way home from work one day. They married January 7, 1961. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and cooking, and loved polka music.
Mary was an amazing wife, mom, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, niece and friend. She proudly served others as a medical aide and was an incredible caregiver to her husband, family and many others, until she no longer could. By that time, she had trained us all and it was our honor to take care of her in return.
Although words and movement escaped Mary these past years, she used her big smile and bright eyes to spread happiness to all those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Walter W. Laudon, Jr., John D. Laudon, and James R. Laudon.
Mary is survived by her husband Bill Niebur, Sr.; children: Laura MacManus and husband Gary of Clinton Township, MI, William Niebur, Jr. and wife Dawn of St. Paul, MN, Suzanne Spencer and husband Eddie of Norman, OK, Steven Niebur and wife Lindsi of Norman, OK; her grandchildren: Rebecca Gwinner, Brian Gwinner, Phoebe Spencer, Edie Spencer, Adelle Niebur, Charlie Niebur, and Jane Niebur; great grandson, William Gwinner; and brothers and sisters-in-law.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all of the nurses and care providers that helped Mary and her family during the past 12 years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Norman. While she may not walk this earth with us anymore, Heaven gained a brilliant, smiling angel and she is just wrapped closer in God's embrace.
A graveside service is tentatively set for Oct. 22, 2016 at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wahoo, NE.
