Merwin Eugene "Nick" Nickel
October 24, 1926 ~ November 28, 2018

Merwin Eugene "Nick" Nickel, 92, passed away November 28, 2018, at home in Bartlesville, OK.

Born to Harry Nickel and Lula Gertz on October 24, 1926, in Fairview, OK, he served in the U.S. Army from 1944 - 1946, being stationed in Japan.

He married Clara Ruth Martin on November 24, 1948, in Oregon. He moved back to Fairview then to Wichita, KS, where all three of their children were born.

He was employed by Boeing in Wichita, the Farmers Co-op in Enid and Ames, OK, and then for Northrop at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, where he retired at 72.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara, sister Mary and his parents. He is survived by daughters Kay (David) Buchholz of Urbandale, IA, Debra of Bartlesville, OK; son Terry (Sherri) of Melrose, WI; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Donna Wahl of Caney, KS, and Betty Porter of Bartlesville, OK; brother Bill Nickel of Wichita, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
