James "Jimmy" Harold Nicholson, aged 80, a resident of Dibble, Oklahoma, passed away on May 19th, 2023, following a brief and stoic battle with multiple illnesses. He was preceded in death by his father, James Thomas Nicholson, his mother, Garnett Nicholson, his sisters, Pat Blaise, Carol Jean Brown, Linda Sue Kiefer, and his brother, Michael Timothy Nicholson. James is survived by his daughter, Cathryn Ann Nicholson, and son, James David Nicholson and many loved nieces, nephews and family members.
James was born on April 1st, 1943, in East St. Louis, to James Thomas and Garnett Nicholson. He proudly served his country as a light duty weapons infantryman in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. In 1963, he joined the carpenters union and dedicated his life to working as a commercial carpenter. He retired in 1998 and spent his remaining years indulging in his lifelong passions. James enjoyed tinkering on computers, spending time in his workshop, and pursuing his love for classic cars. He was a frequent attendee of various car shows and particularly cherished attending the annual Frog Follies in Evansville, Indiana, with his friends. Restoring his beloved 1955 Chevy Bel Air brought him immense joy and satisfaction. James leaves behind a legacy of dedication, craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of classic cars.
