Joe Nichols, a Coalgate resident, was born on February 7, 1937, to Henry Nichols and Elsie May (Lane) Jameson, at Stringtown, OK. He passed away on December 14, 2022 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 7 days. Joe worked in bridge construction, was a pipeliner, welder and a logger. He served 4 years in the US Navy from 1955 to 1959. Joe married Dovie Bryant on July 30, 1965 at Midwest City, OK. They were married 57 years. Joe was a member of the Pipeline Union. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the woods watching the animals. Joe enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He loved to watch football and play cards and dominos with his family and friends on the holidays.
SURVIVED BY: Wife: Dovie Nichols of the home in Coalgate, OK, Daughter: Sandra Harris and husband Bryan of Norman, OK, Son: Joseph Nichols of Coalgate, OK, Grandchildren: Sarisa Cunningham and husband Shawn of Coalgate, OK, Shelton Nichols and Sara Shockey of Wardville, OK, Jacob Harris and wife Shelby of Lexington, OK, Dalton Harris and wife Autum of Norman, OK, Great Grandchildren: Josie and Jacklyn Cunningham, Ruger, Kimber and Raven Harris, Iris Moran. Sister: Diana Willis and husband Bill of Picacho, AZ, Brother: Walter Nichols and wife Percey of Tulsa, OK
