Barbara Jane Shell Nichols, 77, passed away on December 2, 2014 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A celebration of life memorial service for Barbara will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6th at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater with Mr. Norman Richmond officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.
Barbara was born July 30, 1937, to Charles Edward (Ed) Shell and Fern Jane Shell in Glencoe, Oklahoma.
She graduated from Glencoe High School. She married Calvin Nichols in Glencoe, October 8, 1961 and they raised a family in Stillwater.
Prior to her retirement in 1999, Barbara worked for Stillwater Public Schools (Westwood) and The Stillwater Public Schools administration office for 28 years. Previous employment included Stillwater Transfer & Storage, Stillwater Tag Agency, and the City of Stillwater.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Calvin, of the home, and a son, Douglas and a daughter, Robin, of Stillwater. Additional surviving family include her daughter-in- law, Christine (Boyles) Nichols, and four granddaughters, Casey, Jessie, Braden, and Jamie Nichols.
Barbara was one of 5 children. She is survived by her sister, Billie (Shell) Carrier and her husband Dean Carrier of Stillwater, and two brothers, Jerry Shell and his wife, Darlene, of Stillwater and Charles Shell and his wife Barbara of Glencoe. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Phyllis.
Barbara also had many other family members and friends who blessed her life.
