Alford "Steve" Nichols

Alford "Steve" Nichols, 60, of Poteau, passed away Sept. 5, 2009, in Poteau. He was born Nov. 21, 1948, in Albion. He was an auto mechanic working for Spider Webb Motors for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Nichols; step-father, Lester Hicks Marshall; and two brothers, Geary Marshall and James Marshall.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta Nichols, of the home; two sons, Jason Nichols and Louis and Marina Nichols, all of Poteau; a granddaughter, Jasmine Nichols of Tulsa; his mother, Mozelle Marshall of Poteau; five brothers, Dewayne Nichols of California, Troy Nichols of Sperry, Lester Marshall of North Carolina, Freddie Marshall of South Carolina, and Raymond Marshall of Alabama; numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Hancock, Jared DeWitt, James Dale McAlester and Wade Burlew. Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, is in charge of arrangements.
