ENID, Okla. — Funeral for Della Rose Nicholas will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Steve Williams will officiate. A private family burial will follow at a later date.

Della was born May 16, 1936, in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, to Louis R. and Doris E. (Lee) Sloan and died Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid.

She attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1954. She began working with Evans Drug in 1963 and retired after more than 30 years of service.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed bingo with her sisters and daughters and taking trips to casinos. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with all her family. She especially enjoyed going to her brother’s farm, Candlewick, for family gatherings.

She is survived by daughters, Felicia Tobias Curry and husband Chris and Jackie Nicholas, all of Norman; stepdaughter Marla Spore; stepson Mark Nicholas; three grandchildren, Jyl Curry, Jenna Curry Jones, and Nathanial Nicholas; one great-grandson, Graison; three brothers; Donald Ray, Jerry Dan and Terry Wayne Sloan; three sisters, Faye Wisel, Judy Sellars, and Cindy Mootz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Benjamin Nicholas; and one sister, Wanda McMorrow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to St. Jude Children’s Hospital through Henninger-Hinson.
