Charles Lee Newsom joined his beloved Savior on April 3, 2021 at the age of 53. He was the son of Charles Preston Newsom and Linda Lavern (Gibson) Newsom born on March 20, 1968 in Denison, Texas.
A chapel service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday April 12th at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Brett Castle officiating. The family and friends will gather from 1-2:00 PM before the service. Charles will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in Denison, Texas. His pallbearers will be Danny Fuller Jr., Ricky Embry and Michael Embry, Jr.
Charlie was a roofer, mechanic, and scraper by trade. He was a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects indoors and outdoors. Charles always loved to be surrounded by family and friends and was a very loving and spiritual soul.
Charles is survived by his Mother, Linda Gibson Newsom of Denison, Texas, Sisters, Brenda Newsom of Denison, Texas, Cheryl Jimenez and husband Macario of Denison, Texas, Aunt, Norma Gibson Embry, Nieces, Amanda Jimenez and fiancé Rumeal Taylor of Denison, Texas, Carolina Jimenez Anderson and husband Kendrick of Sherman, Texas, Juanita Jimenez Gomez and husband Jairo of Sherman, Texas, Daughter, Chelsee Marie of Round Rock, Texas, Niece, Maria Jimenez Pinal and husband Carlos of Denison, Texas, Great-nieces and nephews, Mariana Pinal, Yanellie Gomez, Estella McGilvery, Alexis Wilson, Kaleb Wilson, Christian Yanez, Jaxson Taylor, and Keaton Taylor.
Charles was preceded in death by his Father, Charles Preston Newsom and Sister, Linda Sue Newsom, and one brother, Gregory Newsom.
