Michael Clarence New was born on September 26, 1981, in De Queen, Arkansas to Richard Mayo and Terry Lynn New. Michael passed away on January 7, 2025, in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 43. Michael graduated from Madill High School and attended college. He worked as a welder for the majority of his life. He married Heather Ann Shipp on June 19, 2009. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gun smithing.
Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents Reba and Terry New; uncle Jackie New and Bill Williams.
Michael is survived by his wife Heather New of the home; children Myley Shipp, Kiley New, and Michael New Jr. all of Wapanucka, OK; brother Roger New and wife Christina of Wapanucka, OK; sister Teresa New of Idabel, OK; and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, April 11, 2025, at Brown’s Durant Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Oden, Arkansas at 3:00 PM on Friday. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening April 10, 2025, from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
