Mary Nell (Peery) Nevitt was born on February 20,1925
to Arch T and Kathryn (Wells) Peery in Trenton Missouri and died February
13,2025 in Enid. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1943 and attended
Trenton Junior College.
Mary Nell married U. Grant Nevitt July 9 1946 in a small Naval chapel on Treasure Island, CA. She was school secretary at Wilson, Coolidge and Carver elementary schools. She enjoyed traveling in the RV with the Thunderbird Camping Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi, Divinci Girls, Retired Teachers Association and served on the board of the YWCA.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Silva and husband John, of Granbury TX, Carolyn Allen and husband Don of Florence AZ, and Stanley Nevitt and wife Barbara of Enid, OK; grandchildren Lisa and Barney Fadal of Seguin TX, Sonja Silva of Jenks OK, Shane and Stacey Smith of Belton MO, Carrie and Abe Assad of Tempe AZ, Tanner Nevitt of Enid OK, Casey and Nicole Caddell, of Enid, OK, Meredith and Cody Westfahl of Enid, OK, Corey Caddell of Kingfisher, OK; twenty great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; brother John Peery and wife Phyllis of Campbellsville, KY; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Grant.
Memorials may be made to the YWCA, OK Complete Hospice, CARE Ministries of FUMC, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
Services will be Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11 am, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Devon Krause officiating. A Celebration of Life to follow at 1 pm at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the funeral home.
