William "Bill" Harold Nelson. 51, unexpectedly passed away at home in Guthrie on February 29, 2019. Bill was born in Edmonds, Washington and came to live in Oklahoma at the age of 12. Bill leaves behind a huge family that he loved with his whole heart. He is survived by his mother, Ann Patterson, his son Bryce Nelson, his bonus sons Jared and Logan, his sisters Stephanie (Jonathan) Orner, Sarah Pressgrove (Tommy), Shanna Shoulders, Sandra Nelson, 20 nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles. His death was preceded by his adoptive parents Keith and Mary Jane Nelson, his father David Bussard, his sister Michelle Nelson and his step-father Perry Patterson.
He spent almost 30 years working at Ditch Witch in Perry, OK and loved the many friends met during that time.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing and golf were some of his favorite pastimes. He was an OU fanatic and loved the Oregon Ducks. If you ever watched a football game with him, you just knew that the decibel level would exceed the recommended limit.
He was stubborn as the day was long, had a knack for sarcasm and a love for four letter words. In fact, he would say this obituary just didn't do him justice. He had a big personality. If he called you a name with a smile on his face, just know you were his friend and for those he called a name without a smile, well... He was a great cook and loved to travel especially if there was sand and ice-cold beer.
Bill left us too soon and we can't wait to see him again someday. Until then, he will remain in our hearts.
A memorial will be held Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Mulhall Community Center, 110 E. Baty, Mulhall, OK.
