Velma Frances was born October 11, 1915 in Mountain View, Oklahoma and passed away February 10, 1999 in the All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 29 days.
She married Ernest George Nelson, Sr., June 1934 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
They made their first home in Crawford, Oklahoma. They moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma in 1937 and later moved to Roanoke, Texas. To this union was born thirteen children.
Velma was a member of the Baptist Church in Roanoke, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Marjorie Nelson; her granddaughter, Marlene Wright; and her son in law, Kenneth Mitchell.
She was survived by son and daughter-in-law George and Pat Nelson, Jr. of Marietta, Oklahoma; and Charles Nelson of Allison, Texas; son and daughter in law Jim Nelson of Disney, Oklahoma; son Joe Nelson of San Antonio, Texas; son Fred Nelson of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Betty Mitchell of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Agnes and Jim Long of Hico, Texas; daughter and son in law Emily and Tommy Brock of Boyd, Texas; daughter Annie Sanderson of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Lynette and Beeny Sproles of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Gary Weatherly of Body, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Darla and Ernest Davis of Fort Worth, Texas; thirty one grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; as well as numerous friends.
Velma was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Burial in IOOF Westlake Cemetery, Westlake, Texas under the direction of Biggers Funeral Home.
