March 12, 1945 ~ March 05, 2018

Longtime La Paz County, Arizona resident, Madie D. Nelson, age 72, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, in Purcell, Oklahoma.

Madie Dean Mason was born March 12, 1945 in Greeleyville, South Carolina., 1 of 7 children born to Archie Mason and Kizzy (Ard) Mason. She was raised in Greeleyville, SC and attended school there. Madie married young, to Richard Moody, and several years later due to unforeseen circumstances was left widowed. In 1987, at Las Vegas, NV, Madie married her life partner, John Franklin Nelson. They made their home in Bouse, Arizona, where together they raised 2 sons, William and Anthony. Her greatest joy was being a wife and mother, caring and providing for her boys. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!
 
She was preceded in death by:
          Her husband,      John Franklin Nelson;
          Parents,               Archie and Kizzy Mason;
          Siblings,              Christine Moody, Katherine Flannery,
                                      Archie Mason and Franklin Mason and
          1st husband,        Richard Moody.
 
Madie leaves behind:
Her boys,            William "Willie" Nelson and wife Tiffany of Purcell, OK and
                                      Anthony "AJ" Nelson and fiancée Raylee of Moore, OK;
          Her grandchildren,      Logan, Bailey and Avia;
          Sister,                  Nautie Tucker of St. Stephens, SC;
          Brother,               Richard Mason of Goose Creek, SC;
          Several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
