George Nelson Jr. “Bubba” was born Friday, June 17, 1966 in Durant, Oklahoma to parents George William Nelson Sr. and Sandra Lee (Presley) Nelson. He passed from this life on Sunday, January 28, 2024 in Denison, Texas at the age of 57.
Bubba was raised and attended schools in Durant. He was a gifted and talented carpenter for many years. Bubba enjoyed building things, listening to music, and helping anyone in need. He was an amazing Dad, Grandpa, son, brother, and uncle. He loved to spend time with family and watching Live PD and Cops. Bubba was a real hero to many and always will be a great inspiration to all. He loved to talk and share all his stories. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Bubba was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry Penn Countryman and Jane Lorraine Countryman, and Jim William Nelson and Vera Marie Nelson.
He leaves behind his parents George Nelson Sr. and Sandra Lee Nelson of Durant; sisters Sherry Lynn Schaut of Durant, Diana Jane Fletcher of Durant, and Virginia Lee Spence of Durant; brother Michael Dean Nelson and his wife Brenda of Durant; a daughter Virginia Faith Nelson of Durant; sons Brandon William Nelson of Yucaipa, CA, and Joseph Christopher Perkins of Durant; and granddaughter Everlee Marie Jane Nelson of Durant and 4 other grandkids.
