Chauncey Glenn Nelson
April 21, 1964 ~ March 10, 2025

Chauncey Glenn Nelson, 60, passed away on March 10, 2025, in Durant, Oklahoma. He was born on April 21, 1964, in Oakdale, California.

Chauncey grew up in California and attended Turlock High School in Turlock, California, where he was an active student who played football and had a deep love for music. He played the French horn, trumpet, and guitar, showcasing his musical talents from an early age. Chauncey was also very proud of his Choctaw heritage.

A man of many passions, Chauncey found joy in riding motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. He cherished time spent with friends, often sharing stories and laughter. His ability to connect with people was unmatched-he never met a stranger and had a gift for making others smile with his jokes and warm personality. Music remained a lifelong love of his, bringing him happiness throughout the years.

Above all else, Chauncey was devoted to his family. He took great pride in raising his grandsons and ensuring they were surrounded by love and guidance. His presence brought happiness to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Scriver; his children, Brittany Nelson Leopold, Chance Nelson, Mariah Nelson, Jozef Nelson, Brandon Scriver, and Jonathan Scriver; his siblings; Vickie Nelson Alexander of Durant, Oklahoma, James Nelson of Kenefic, Oklahoma, Brenda Nelson Talbot of Vidalia, Louisiana, Charles Wages of Anderson, South Carolina, grandchildren; Zayne Nelson, Zeke Nelson, Katelynn Leopold, Cixto Murillo IV, Jozef Nelson Jr., Damien Nelson, Amanda Scriver, Christopher Griffith, Joshua Moyer, and Matthew Moyer. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members. He also leaves behind lifelong friends Robert Harrington and Larry Davis.
Chauncey was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Fay Lasater and James Ernest Nelson; his son, Jason Scriver; and his daughter Katelynn Nelson Martin.

His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness and humor. May those who knew him find comfort in the joy he brought into their lives.
