Marion Rose Ned, of Durant, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on June 18, 1931, in Albany, New York, Marion's life was a tapestry of love, service, and vivaciousness that touched everyone she knew.
Marion's life was one of active engagement with her community, as evidenced by her dedicated volunteer work with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Her interests, particularly her love for dancing, brought light and laughter to many. Those who knew her will remember Marion as a spirited soul, whose presence was a gift to all. Her memory will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Her legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her son Jim Freeman and his wife Patricia of St. Amant, Louisiana; her daughter Cheryle Franklin and her husband Michael of Clifton, Texas; her daughter Melinda Freeman of Canton, Georgia; and her son Jody Ned and his wife Feleisha of Durant, Oklahoma. She was the proud matriarch to fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren. She will lovingly be remembered by her dear friends Dale Hargis and Delores Taylor.
Preceding her in death were her parents, William Gedney and Anna Teresa (Dahlgren) Snyder, her husband, Edwin Ned, and all nine of her siblings.
