David Lee Nave was 66 years young when he died Tuesday in Bartlesville. He will be missed by his beloved wife, mother, kids, grandkids and family.
David was born the son of Hubert Lee and Ruby Mae (Gray) Nave on November 6, 1955 in Kingfisher, OK. He grew up with his cousins and family was everything to him. After he received his education David went to work with his father on local ranches and picked up welding. Throughout life, David was best friends with his father, and they enjoyed working and having fun together.
David went on to work near and far wherever a whim took him. He worked ranches and welded in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, California and many other states. At some point in time David met Deborah Walden Montgomery on the internet and they started talking. Deborah decided to move to Stringtown, OK, where they made their first home after marrying on May 8, 2000. In 2005 they moved to Hominy and then in 2009, moved to Bartlesville.
David and Deborah enjoyed being in each other’s company, especially outdoors. Together, they had fun fishing, hunting rabbit and squirrel, and travelling in their motorhome. David’s passions included playing his guitar and singing his favorite songs. Yard work was no chore and he took pride in keeping his yard nice. Most of all he loved his family, and he did everything he could to make his grandkids laugh and smile. Every one of them loved sitting on Pa Pa’s lap, usually one on each knee. David was a free spirit, and his memory lives on in the hearts of those that loved him.
David is survived by his wife Deborah of the home; mother Ruby Mae Sniden; four children, Amy Jo (Tim) Countryman, Erin Walden, Michael (Christal) Jones, and Krystal (Alex) Jones; five siblings, Kevin Nave, Wade Nave, Patricia Thomison, Sheila Horn and Lori Nave; seven grandchildren, Isaiah, Isaaic, Abigail, Chelsea, Matthew, Jonathon and Alexis; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and sister Judy.
David’s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville, on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10-8.
