Teena (Kinsey) Nations
July 28, 1943 ~ August 4, 2012 (age 69)

Teena Nations, 69, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 in Norman.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at First Presbyterian Church in Norman with additional parking and a shuttle from McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was born July 28, 1943 in Monahans, Tx., to Thurman and Bessie Nell Kinsey.

She received her undergraduate degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Tx., and masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Oklahoma. She married Dr. Bill Nations on June 2, 1967 in Dallas.

She served as deputy director of the Oklahoma Commission for Teacher Preparation. Formerly, Dr. Nations worked for Norman Public Schools for 32 years. She served as principal or assistant principal at Norman High, West Mid-High, Longfellow, Irving and Whittier middle schools. She was the first female principal at Norman High.

Survivors include her husband, Bill, of the home; a daughter, Tara Jaramillo and her husband Rudy of Phoenix, a grandson Dre and a granddaughter Brie and a number of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Norman Public School Foundation, 131 S. Flood, Norman, 73069.

Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
