Janet Gertrude Nason passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 8, 2020 in Oklahoma City, OK surrounded by her loving family.
Janet was born December 13, 1951 in Perth Andover, NB Canada. She met her husband Wilmont “Bill" Nason in 1968 and were married December 19, 1970. On October 26, 1974 and March 6, 1981 respectively, she welcomed her two beautiful daughters, who were the most important part of her life. Her and her family lived in Caribou, Maine (Aroostook County) for over 30 years, and in that time, she worked for the Caribou Middle School which brought her great joy. She was such a personable soul that every student, teacher, or parent that walked into her office could feel how much she genuinely cared. She loved to decorate cakes, took great pride in watching her two daughters perform at church and at school, she taught cake decorating classes at adult education, and was an avid member of the Caribou Assembly of God, and Caribou PTA.
In 2006 she moved with her husband Bill to Yukon, OK to be with her two daughters. There, she worked for the Yukon Public Schools for eight years and retired in October 2014. She was the nursery coordinator at Christ’s Legacy Church, and was a spiritual woman involved in many church activities and was the true definition of a prayer warrior. Janet was a huge fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and she enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren and watching them grow. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Hilda Davenport of Aroostook, NB Canada; brother, Vincent Davenport of Windsor, NS Canada; nephew, Troy Davenport of Sackville NS Canada; niece, Melanie Veinot of Upham, NB Canada; nephew, Tyler Davenport of Rothesay, NB Canada. She is survived by her loving husband Bill of Yukon, OK; daughters, Nicole Morris and husband David of Yukon, OK, Tiffany Prentice and husband TJ of Yukon, OK; her granddaughter Ella Morris; grandsons Gabe Prentice, Jacoby Prentice, and Riker Morris, and her siblings, Alton of Bath NB Canada, Vernon Davenport of Frankford ON Canada, Connie Baker of Quispamsis NB Canada, and Dannie Davenport of Tinker NB Canada.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 1-8 pm with the family receiving guests from 6-8 pm. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be 2pm, Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in the chapel of Buchanan Funeral Service.
