Thomas (Tommy) Alton Nash passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was 68 years old. Tommy was born on April 8, 1948 in Newkirk, Oklahoma to his parents, Elza E. and Flora I. (Ashcraft) Nash.
He was raised in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1966. He enlisted in the United States Navy following high school. Tommy was a tile setter by trade and worked for Bill Mock. Later in life he worked for Garroutte Leather Shop. Tommy had a great love of music, especially the 50's classic rock and roll and the blues. He also loved to draw cartoon characters.
Tommy is survived by two children, Angelina Reyes and Danny Reyes, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a 5th expected in May. He is also survived by his sisters Diana Polston and husband Larry of Pittsburg, KS and Lori Schiltz and husband John of Ponca City, half sister, Lynn Thomas of Jacksonville, AR, sister-in-law, Dixie Nash of Ponca City, several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Kevin and Alice Terry, Miguel and Alicia Hernandez, and many other dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jerry Nash, and his two miniature pugs, Buddy and Lil' Bit. Our family would like to thank Alliance Health Care, Dr. Wilcox and staff, and Dr. White and staff for their love and kindness shown to Tommy during his illness.
Tommy has donated his body to the United Tissue Network to aid in the advancement of medical technology, training, and education.
A memorial ceremony will be held at the Ponca City Free Will Baptist Church, 1900 E. Hubbard, on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ponca City Free Will Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory in Ponca City.
