Jeannette Nance was born September 16, 1946 at her home in Floydada, Texas to Frances Irene and Russell Nolan Reeves. She passed away June 6, 2016 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 20 days.
Jeannette grew up in Floydada, Texas and attended schools graduating in 1965. After graduation she was married to Paul Hurley and to this union two daughters were born. In 1982 Jeannette started working at the tag office as an assistant and during this time she also attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She was later married to Larry Gene Nance at Elk City, Oklahoma on November 23, 1990. In 1995 she obtained employment at Plainview, Texas Correction Facility and later at the Northfork Correctional Facility working as a corrections officer. In 2006 she began working at Elkwood Assisted Living center until her retirement in 2011. Jeannette enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, Bible prophesy, crocheting, reading and collecting antiques artifacts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Betty Sue Reeves and an infant brother.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, of the home; 2 daughters, Christy Hurley, Elk City, OK and Paula Duffy and husband, Gavin, Elk City, OK; 1 step son, Garry Nance and wife, Angel, Elk City, OK; 7 grandchildren, Kayla Counts, Allison Yeager, Holden Talley, Payton Duffy, Baylee Duffy, all of Elk City, OK, Coleman Nance and Emily Nance, both of Louisiana; 2 sisters, Joanne Smith, Floydada, TX and Dolores Ayers and husband, John, Hobbs, NM; 3 brothers, Jerry Reeves and wife, Joan, Seward, NE, Terry Reeves and wife, Sandy, Slaton, TX and Mike Reeves.
