Bruce Myers, 53, of Jones, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in Oklahoma City. He was born July 24, 1956 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to Walter and Phyllis Myers.
Bruce grew up in Minnesota and later Wisconsin where he found his love Sandra Sivley. They married on September 11, 1976 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, Bruce began a 27-year career with the Federal Aviation Administration. Bruce was looking forward to retirement where he could continue his hobbies: making stained glass, camping, and playing with his grandchildren.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by: his wife of 34 years, Sandra; daughter, LeeAnn and husband David; sons: Eric and wife Jacqueline and Chris; 5 grandchildren: Nathan, Taylor, Melanie, Ethan and Tatum; brothers Bill and wife Kathy, Bryan, Brad and wife Hannah; sister Belinda and husband John along with numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Bruce Myers Scholarship Fund be made to either the FAA Credit Union or BancFirst of Jones. A memorial service to honor Bruce will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 15 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel.
