Homer Alvie "Al" Musgrave

Homer Alvie "Al" Musgrave
November 4, 1932 ~ November 26, 2023

Homer Alvie Musgrave was born November 4, 1932, to Levi and Mae Musgrave in rural Cleveland County, Oklahoma. He graduated from Norman High School with the Class of 1950. Al was a proud Navy Veteran.

On July 4, 1953, Al married Bobby Jean Barnard and they recently celebrated their 70th anniversary. They raised three children and chose to always stay in Oklahoma- living in OKC, Lawton, Sterling, Norman, and Purcell.

He graduated from Blackwell Business College and continued learning and living his life to the fullest for all of his 91 years of age. After his retirement as general manager of Auxier Scott Supply Company in OKC, he joined Bobby in the real estate world. They opened Musgrave Real Estate in Purcell in 1982. Al next started Musgrave Construction Company with his son Ron, and they built many homes in the Purcell area. He loved hunting, published several short stories, and considered his time spent on the farm as golden.

Al passed away on November 26, 2023, he was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Sandra Joy and her husband Weldon Beasley, and also 4 of his bossy sisters: Agnes, Aliene, Alice, and Alma.

Al is survived by his wife Bobby and two children: Jean and husband Fred Stauffer, and Ron Musgrave and wife Mary. He had six grandchildren: Jake Musgrave, Katie (Brian) Manning, Lindsay (Bryan) Jackson, Shelly (Jeremy) D’Apolito, Caleb (Cassidy) Stauffer, and Josh (Naomi) Stauffer. Al enjoyed every moment spent with his eight great-grandchildren: Aliza, Lily, Michael, Caleb, Ava, Lance, Shannyn, Mason (Alysha). He is also survived by his younger brother and sister: Earl (Judy) Musgrave and Anita (Raymond) Dousset. Al always enjoyed being with Bobby’s family and all his nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Homer Alvie Musgrave are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday December 1, 2023 at Little’s Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to The Pioneer Library System Foundation www.plsfdn.org or by mail, 300 Norman Center Court, Norman, OK, 73072.
