Dakota, Ma’Kenna, Eleanor and William Murray departed this life too soon on April 21, 2023.

Dakota Lynn Murray was born April 20, 1994 in Cushing, OK. He was the son of Jimmy Don Murray. He graduated from Stroud High School in 2012. After high school he went to work for his papa, Bill Mitchell’s concrete company and then has worked for Service King in Stroud for 10 years. Dakota was a great husband and father and friend especially to John Tipton, Corbin Beck, and Cody Laxton.

Ma’Kenna Marie Murray was born December 14, 1996 in Tulsa, OK. She was the daughter of Jim and Heather Grammer. Ma’Kenna was a natural caregiver and she even had the work history to match. She was a CNA at one time and had other various jobs that took care of people. Recently she was attending Seminole State College majoring in social services. She was currently employed by Sac & Fox Nation in their APS division. Ma’Kenna was also an amazing cook especially when it came to baking her famous cakes.

Dakota and Ma’Kenna married August 25, 2019. What brought this couple together was their heart. Their heart for family and friends, their heart to give, their heart to care for others in a way most can’t. Out of their love two kids were born. Eleanor Lynn Marie Murray was born March 3, 2018 in Tulsa, OK. and William Sutton Orville Murray was born November 2, 2019 also in Tulsa, OK.

Eleanor was in PreK at Stroud Parkview Elementary. Ellie was a spitfire and boss just like her momma. She knew how to tell you what to do and not to do. She loved her horse, Murt. Ellie played softball, was a cheerleader and also was a girl scout. Her selling tactics for cookies was by far one of the best. Ellie also loved to play with her best friends Kyla, Ava, Nevaeh and Maijer.

William was in head start at Yellow Earth Learning Center in Stroud. He was all boy and enjoyed to do all things that boys do. Will was a daddy’s boy and loved to help his dad with anything he was doing. He adored his stuffed dog, Thunder and his best friend Asher. Will’s favorite show was Paw Patrol. Will could always been seen in his favorite boots.

This family was full of life and love. Dakota, Ma’Kenna, Ellie and Will all have unforgettable smiles and contagious laughs. They enjoyed camping, fishing, being on the farm, and spending time with friends. Dakota and Ma’Kenna would do anything for anyone. They were the most caring and giving people, at a moment’s notice they would drop what they were doing to help anyone else that needed it. Their family was their number one priority and anyone around them knew that. The Murray family as a whole was a kind, humble, giving, well loved and respected family. There are too many words to describe this family and the impact they left; they will undoubtedly be deeply missed.

Family left to cherish their memory is Ma’Kenna’s mother and father Jim and Heather Grammer; Ma’Kenna’s second mom Cheryl Bowman; Dakota’s father Jimmy Murray; Tammy Beavers; Ma’Kenna’s grandparents Tom Grammer, Brenda Berry, and Jerry Hula; Dakota’s grandparents Bill and Carolyn Mitchell and Dorothy Mann, Ma’Kenna’s sisters Samantha Harper and husband Shannon; Kelsey Grammer; Jimmie Grammer; and Rebecca Hill; Dakota’s sisters Nikki White, Cherokee Beaver and Stormy Beaver; Dakota’s brothers Vernon Quinn, Hunter Bluford and Tyrone Schoolcraft; aunts and uncles Keith Hula and wife Krystle; Kristin Goforth and husband Kyle, Miranda, Kaydee and Harper Berry; Carol Crary and husband David; Richard Murray Jr, and Tim Bluford and wife Toni and nieces and nephews Liam and Maijer Byrne; Claire, Alice, Walker and Baby Harper; Willa DeShazo and Wilder Copeland; Matthew and Jillian Hill; Layla Gilpatrick, Cecilia Garrison, Izzy Quinn, Remington Beavers and Charles Bluford. The Murray’s also leave behind many more extended family members and a host of friends.

Those meeting them in Heaven are Dakota’s mom Debbie Butterfield and Ma’Kenna’s grandmother Cynthia Knouse; Dakota’s grandfathers Richard Dean Murray Sr and Charles Beaver Sr.

A service to honor this family will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Stroud Performing Arts Center in the Stroud High School. A guest book is available to share your memories on-line. Please visit http://www.ParksBrothers.net. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
