Tim Murphy, age 72, died Thursday November 30, 2017 at 11:50 AM at St. Frances Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma following a sudden illness.
Tim was born December 12, 1944 in Austin, Minnesota to Bernard J. and Anna Karina Johnson Murphy. He graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin, Minnesota and entered the US Army serving in the Intelligence Core.
Following his honorable discharge Tim worked for McQuay's in Fairbault, Minnesota before joining IBM in 1966 in Rochester, Minnesota. Tim remained with IBM and was transferred to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1971 where he met and married Merri House Murphy in Miami, Oklahoma in 1980. The couple just recently celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary. In 1980 he left IBM and became a partner in Ajax Office Machine Company and later became the sole owner Ajax Office Machine Company and Ajax Business Computers. Following his retirement in 1998 Tim has remained active pursuing his love of camping and metal working. Tim and Merri were currently making their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Tim is survived by his wife, Merri Murphy of the home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, one son, Ryan Murphy and wife Brittanie of Santa Fe, New Mexico; 2 Daughters, Chris Allen and husband Del of Houston, Texas and Lori McLean and husband Mike of Cleveland Oklahoma; Six Grandchildren, Craig and Christian Allen both of Houston, Texas; Summer Guinn, Triston McLean and Danielle McLean all of Cleveland, Oklahoma and Kylie McLean of Stillwater, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, Weston and Holden Guinn and Ryder and Isabel McLean. 3 Sisters, Donna Numsen of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; Kathryn Klingfus or Austin, Minnesota and Nancy O'Rourke of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard J and Anna Karina Johnson Murphy; one brother, Bernard J. Murphy Jr. and Two sisters, Beverly Felten and Pat Hegge.
Public visitation will be held at the Stumpff Funeral Home chapel , 1600 SE Washington Blvd, Bartlesville, OK on Saturday, December 2nd from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
Private family services will be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Allstar Therapy Group, 37500 US 75 Highway, Ramona, Oklahoma, 74061.
