Mary June Murphy, age 64, a Bromide, OK and lifelong Johnston County resident. She was born on Sunday, January 11, 1959, to Robert and Bertha Fay (Huffman) Rolen, at Ryan, OK. Mary passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Tishomingo, OK. She attended Ryan and Wapanucka Public Schools. Mary was a Housewife and Homemaker. She married Larry Murphy on Sunday, August 7th, 1977 at Fittstown, OK. They celebrated 46 years of marriage together before her passing.
Mary was raised of the Assembly of God faith and later converted to Baptist. She was a member of the Wapanucka Baptist Church. She was a former mayor and volunteer firefighter in Bromide. Mary loved to color, read, and be with her grand kids. She also enjoyed watching the ID channel and Judge Judy. She was a big Elvis fan.
Mary is survived by her husband, Larry Murphy of the home in Bromide, OK; daughters, Elizabeth Hernandez of Shawnee, OK, Gloria Hokett and husband Darrell of Atoka, OK, Stacey Murphy of Sulpher, OK, Tracey McIntyre of Shawnee, OK; sister, Rita Briscoe and husband Tomie of Milburn, OK; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear and loved friends.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Bertha Fay (Huffman) Rolen; brothers, Robert Rolen Jr, Frinchy Rolen; sisters, Corinna Cravett, Ruby Jordan, Helen Arles.
DATE OF FAMILY GATHERING: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM Wednesday, December 6th, 2023.
PLACE OF SERVICES: Brown's Funeral Chapel, Atoka, Oklahoma
INTERMENT: The family has chosen cremation.
